At a certain point in all women's lives, they find themselves walking through an improper door. Personally, my most vivid recollection of this was at a masquerade event hosted at a bustling nightclub. I encountered a towering, well-built man who spoke with a distinct Belarusian drawl, and his persuading offer was to get me a cocktail. An unexpected moment that seems to be woven into my memory, creating a sort of permanent reminder of the unpredictability of life. The extent to which this singular event impacted and reshaped my perspectives still astonishes me to this day.
